Bio

Sergio Deustua (Lima, 1981) is a filmmaker, camera operator, editor and audiovisual post-producer.

Graduated in Audiovisual Communication from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

He began his professional career as an editor in 2000 in the production company López – Li Films, where he learned the craft of filmmaking.

As a camera operator, editor and post-producer, he has been responsible for more than 10 feature documentaries such as Hécuba, a dream of passion (San Sebastian Film Festival), The chicken, the fish & the king crab (Berlin Film Festival), Bosch, the gardn of dreams (nominated for the Goya award for best documentary), Love & Death (Valladolid Film Festival), Zurbarán & his 12 sons (Valladolid Film Festival), etc. Films broadcasted on TV channels such as TVE, Canal+, ARTE, etc…

He has been in charge of production and editing at the CNN International correspondent’s office in Madrid; and has collaborated as media content creator in channels such as the BBC, elmundo.es, The Olympic Channel…

He is currently working as editor and postproducer of contents for the International Basketball Federation.
